About Us
History
St. Mary's Old Girls' Association (SMOGA) was started by Mrs. Grace Amartefio of SMOGA '62 with a few old girls in 1977.
Their aim was to strengthen communication, loyalty and friendship among old girls, students, management, staff and affiliates of the school.
As a non-profit organization, they tried to keep the association running through thick and thin to promote the general welfare of SMOGANs.
The group met at various locations including the grotto at Christ The King Catholic Church, GBC Club House, Afrikiko Gardens and finally at the School. Membership grew after some time so they decided to elect officers as follows:
- President: Mrs. Grace Amarteifio
- Vice President: Ms. Ellen Jonah
- Secretary: Ms. Alice Yarboi
- Financial Secretaries: Ms. Dora Aryee and Ms. Juliana Akushie
These executives were ably supported by Mrs. Eileen Smart Abbey, Mrs. Mary Halm, Mrs. Elizabeth Quarmyne, Mrs. Emily Odoi and a few dedicated members who held the fort till 2015 when they handed over to the current executives.
